Pandyan Grama Bank was started in 1977, Adhiyaman Grama bank and Vallalar Grama Bank were started in 1986, then amalgamated as Pallavan Grama Bank in 2006. Tamil Nadu Grama Bank was formed after the amalgamation of erstwhile Pallavan grama bank and Pandyan grama bank and came into existence on 01 April 2019, by an official as per GOI Gazette Notification no. 363 dated 28-01-2019. The first induction of Ex-servicemen employees in our bank happened in April 2008. Initially, the whole concept of Ex-servicemen, their role and their benefits were totally unknown in our Bank. Ex-Servicemen employees who joined thereafter were unaware of their benefits . As many of them were scattered across different branches of our bank, an urgent need was felt to organise ourselves under one single umbrella. 
        On 08 March 2020, a new page was written in the history of Ex-servicemen employees in our bank. A meeting was held in Madurai which was attended by majority of members where a unanimous  decision was arrived to form Tamilnadu grama bank Ex-servicemen Welfare Association (TExWA).  

        The main aim of this association is to work for the benefit of Ex-servicemen employees, to guide them in service related matters in bank, to help them in getting pay fitment, to advise the management regarding Ex-Servicemen benefits and  to formulate a unified policy for us regarding promotion, training and transfer.
